Previously, the admission test was held only on the University of Chittagong campus, but now it is held in several divisional cities outside Chittagong. As a result, it has become easier for students to participate in the CU admission test.

CU Admission Circular 2025
The Chittagong University Admission Circular 2025 has been Published. This circular announces the final roadmap for the CU Admission 2024-25. Applications for participation in the admission test can be submitted online from 12:30 PM on January 1, 2025, to 11:59 PM on January 15, 2025.
The prescribed application fee per unit/sub-unit can be paid through 'Rocket' or 'bKash' Mobile Financial Service Operator by 11:59 PM on January 15, 2025.
Application Eligibilities
The eligibility criteria for CU Admission depend on which academic program you are applying for. However, for all units, students must have passed the HSC or equivalent exam in 2023 or 2024 and the SSC or equivalent exam in 2021 or 2022. In addition, there must be a minimum total GPA at the SSC and HSC levels to apply to different units. A minimum GPA is required for both SSC and HSC.
- Unit A (Science): To apply for this unit, the student must have a minimum GPA of 8.25. However, the student must have a minimum GPA of 4.0 at the SSC or equivalent level and a minimum GPA of 3.50 at the HSC or equivalent level.
- Unit B (Arts and Humanities): To apply for this unit, students in the humanities group must have a minimum total GPA of 7.0 and at least 3.0 separately. Science and Business Studies students must have a minimum GPA of 7.50 and at least 3.50 separately.
- Unit C (Business Administration): To apply for the C-Unit of the Faculty of Business Administration, you must have a minimum total GPA of 7.50 and a separate GPA of at least 3.50.
- Unit D (Social Science): To apply for the Faculty of Social Sciences, you must have a minimum total GPA of 7.50 and a separate GPA of at least 3.50.
- CGE (A and O Level) students can also apply, subject to eligibility.
How to Apply
To apply for CU Admission 2025, applicants must follow the online application process on the official website. Here is a step-by-step guide:
- The applicant must complete all the procedures related to the admission test through the University of Chittagong's admission website, https://admission.cu.ac.bd. On this website, the applicant will find admission guidelines, notices, and links for all units/sub-units of the University of Chittagong. Before applying to any unit/sub-unit, read the admission guidelines carefully. Also, read the instructions on each page online.
- To apply for admission to any unit/sub-unit, visit the University of Chittagong admission website and click the 'Register' button. You will see a form to provide the name of the board of your higher secondary/equivalent examination, roll number, and year of passing, as well as the name of the board of secondary or equivalent examination, roll number, and year of passing. Fill in the information correctly and click on the 'Submit' button.
- After clicking on the 'Submit' button, if the applicant's information is correct and eligible to apply to any unit/sub-unit, the applicant must provide their mobile number correctly on the next page. Then click the "Send Confirmation Code" button to receive a Confirmation Code on your mobile. Note that the mobile number used during the application must be the student's mobile number. All notifications/messages related to the admission test will be sent to that mobile number from the university.
- After providing the Confirmation Code and clicking on the 'Verify Code' button, if the Confirmation Code is correct, a "profile" of the applicant will be created, and "UserID" and "Password" will be sent to the applicant's mobile. Save your "UserID" and "Password" for all future inquiries/activities related to admission.
- "Log In" to the admission website with the "UserID" and "Password" received on your mobile, and you will be taken to the main page of the application, where the application details will be displayed. If the applicant has any quota and wants to add it to the application, they can add one or more desired quotas from the quota-adding option in the "Personal" tab of their profile.
- The applicant will upload a recently taken clear formal photo (face uncovered) of the correct size (Size: 150KB; Resolution: 300x300 pixels) in the specified section of their profile. Then click "Question Language" and select the language of the exam question paper. Applicants for whom the quota is applicable will choose the relevant quota. Then click "Save Profile" to complete the applicant's profile creation. Note that if the profile creation is not completed, the applicant cannot apply to any unit/sub-unit.
- The applicant will click on the "Application" tab in their profile, and from a list of eligible units/sub-units, he/she will "Select" the unit/sub-unit he wishes to apply for.
- After selecting the unit/sub-unit, the applicant will click on the "Apply" button and get a "Bill Number." Using that Bill Number, the applicant must pay the application fee for that unit/sub-unit through Mobile Financial Service Operator 'bKash' or 'Rocket.' In this way, the same procedure must be followed for each unit/sub-unit.
CU Admit Card Download
Admit cards must be carried to participate in the CU Admission test. A separate admit card has to be downloaded for each unit. Applicants can download, save, and print the admit card, if necessary, up to 1 (one) hour before the admission test. To download the admit card, you need to log in to the login menu of the admission website admission.cu.ac.bd. Then, download and print separate admit cards for the applied unit(s) from the dashboard.
During the admission test, the candidate must bring two copies of passport size photographs, original registration card of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, original copy of A level Statement of Entry and two copies of downloaded admit card to the examination hall. Candidates must wear masks.
The applicant has to appear in the admission test with the documents mentioned in the instructions on the admit card.
Admission Test Schedule
The CU Admission Test 2024-2025 is divided into different units (such as A, B, C, D, B1, and D1 units) representing different faculties. Each unit has a specific exam date, usually scheduled over several weeks.

Seat Plan
The seating plan for the admission test will be published on the notice board of the respective unit office and on the CU admission website (admission.cu.ac.bd). The applicant must know the information about the assigned room number and seat, as well as his/her responsibility, and appear for the exam on the scheduled day in the specified room and seat.
Detailed seating arrangements will be available on the University of Chittagong admission website 48 hours before the admission test. In addition, the applicant will be informed about their seating arrangement through SMS as per the instructions on the admit card.
Marks Distribution
The one-hour, 100-mark admission test will be conducted using the MCQ method. However, the admission test for the Department of Drama, Institute of Fine Arts, Music, and Department of Physical Education and Sports Science will be conducted using a combination of MCQ and practical methods.
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer from the marks obtained in the admission test. However, in the C unit admission test, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer of 1 mark question, and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer of 2 mark question from the obtained marks.
- A list of those who get 40 or more marks in the 100 (hundred) marks admission test in general seats and 35 or more marks in quota seats will be prepared. A total of 120 marks merit score will be prepared based on the obtained marks and the marks obtained in the secondary/equivalent examination and higher secondary/equivalent examination.

CU Admission Result 2025
The CU Admission Result are usually published within a week of the respective exam date. Applicants can view their results by entering their roll number on the official admission portal.

Subject Choice
After the merit list is published, subject/department/institute preferences (Choice List) and the Student Information Form (SIF) must be filled out online within a specified date.
In case of department selection, mention carefully the preferences of the departments that will be displayed online. All the departments displayed online should be in the list of preferences.
Later, information on subject/department/institute choice and department distribution according to the merit order of the admission test and eligibility for admission will be posted on the notice board of the respective unit. In addition, the candidate has to appear at the concerned unit office with the original mark sheets of SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent according to the year assigned to him/her. In case of a candidate is finally selected for admission, the original mark sheets of SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent will be deposited. (1 set of photocopies and original of all papers/documents should be kept with you)
Final Admission
Selected candidates must complete the final admission process by submitting the required documents, including SSC and HSC certificates, mark sheets, admit cards, and passport-size photographs. Admission fees must also be paid within this period.

After the publication of the list of nominees in the subject/department/institute in the first phase, the nominees have to submit the original certificates along with the necessary documents, such as the "Faculty Development Fee" of Tk. 500/- (five hundred) and "Education Assistance Fee" of Tk. 3000/- (three thousand) within the stipulated time frame announced by the authorities. It must be completed by submitting it to the concerned unit office. (The concerned unit will give notice on the CU website for the information of the candidates)
