The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) of Bangladesh is a medical education institution operated under the Ministry of Defense. Its goal is to produce disciplined, ethically sound, dedicated physicians for the armed forces and the country.

AFMC Admission Circular 2025

AFMC has recently published its admission circular for the MBBS program for the academic year 2025. The application process is entirely online and conducted through its official websites, afmc.edu.bd and afmc.teletalk.com.bd. 

According to the AFMC Admission Circular 2025, the deadline for applicants to fill out and submit the application form is 27 December 2024, 11:59 PM.

Application Eligibilities

To apply for AFMC Admission 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria as per the guidelines of the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council:

  • Must have passed HSC/'A' Level/equivalent in 2024 and SSC/'O' Level/equivalent in 2022, or HSC/'A' Level/equivalent in 2023 and SSC/'O' Level/equivalent in 2021. The combined GPA in both exams must be at least 9.00.
  • Must have passed SSC/'O' Level/equivalent in the Science division and HSC/'A' Level/equivalent with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in the Science division.
  • For tribal candidates, the minimum acceptable combined GPA is 8.00. However, a grade point below 3.50 in any exam is unacceptable.
  • Must have passed SSC/'O' Level/equivalent within 02 (two) years before passing HSC/'A' Level/equivalent. Students who passed SSC/'O' Level/equivalent before 2021 will not be considered eligible to apply.
  • Must have a minimum grade point of 4.00 in Biology in the HSC/'A' Level/equivalent exam.

Special Note: The candidate must be a citizen of Bangladesh and within a maximum age of 20 years on 1st July 2024.

How to Apply

AFMC Admission applications will be available online from 10 December 2024 (11:00 AM) to 27 December 2024 (11:59 PM). The web address for the AFMC application form is http://afmc.teletalk.com.bd. The process for filling out the application/form is as follows:

  1. In the first step at the web address, there are separate instructions for the national curriculum (SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent) and for GCE ('O' and 'A' Level). 
  2. In the second step for candidates who have passed the national curriculum, after typing the SSC and HSC roll numbers, registration number, board, and year and clicking submit, the application form will appear on the computer screen. Candidates who have passed GCE 'O'/'A' Level must collect an Equivalence Certificate and ID from the Directorate General Medical Education, Mohakhali, Dhaka. Then, after typing their mobile number and ID and clicking submit, the application form will appear on the computer screen.
  3. While filling out the application form, in the field of medical college preference, all of the Armed Forces Medical Colleges and the remaining Army Medical Colleges can be selected.
  4. In addition to typing and selecting options, the following two documents must be attached to complete the application form. Photo: Recently taken (300x300 pixels, within 100 kilobytes, and in jpg/jpeg format). Signature: 300x80 pixels, within 60 kilobytes, and in jpg/jpeg format. 
  5. If the application form is completed correctly, a sample of the candidate's completed application will appear on the computer screen (Student's copy), which can be printed and saved as a PDF file. After filling out the application form, the User ID received must be saved as it will be required for subsequent payment and center selection. 
  6. Parent's Particulars must be filled in correctly. 
  7. Applicants in the quota must fill in the quota information according to the application form. 
  8. Applicants in the tribal quota must check the box at the beginning of the application and fill out the form. 
  9. Within 24 hours of filling out the application form, the candidate must send 1000/- (one thousand taka) only (non-refundable) through Teletalk mobile connection as incidental expenses for the admission process, according to the prescribed method.

Payment Instruction

Candidates have to pay the application fee of 1000 Taka through Teletalk prepaid mobile. Otherwise, the application will be canceled. However, the candidate can reapply within the stipulated time. The process of payment of the application fee by the candidate and the choice of cantonment (any 02 centers) as the center for the admission test must be completed through SMS. 

The method of depositing the examination fee is as follows:

Go to the Message option of Teletalk's Prepaid mobile phone and send an SMS to 16222 by typing AFMC, space, and User ID. 

Example: AFMC<Space>ABCDEF (here, ABCDEF is the User ID obtained after filling the form).

A PIN will be informed to the candidate in the return SMS, and consent will be sought by providing information about deducting 1000/- as fee.

To give consent, send an SMS to 16222 in the following way: Go to the Message option, type AFMC, space, YES, space, PIN, space, two center codes in order of preference separated by comma (,), and send an SMS to 16222. 

Example: Send an SMS to 16222 by typing AFMC<Space>YES<Space>PIN<Space>111,121. (Here 111 and 121 are Dhaka Cantonment and Chattogram Cantonment examination centers respectively). 

After receiving this SMS, the application will be finally accepted.

AFMC Admission Circular 2025

AFMC Admission Test Date

AFMC Admission Test 2024-2025 will be held on 24 January 2025 (Friday) from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. It will be conducted in designated centers in major cities of Bangladesh. On the exam day, candidates must bring their admit card and valid photo ID.

AFMC Admit Card Download

Candidates can download their AFMC admit card 2025 from afmc.teletalk.com.bd using their user ID and password from 19 January 2025 at 10:00 AM to 23 January 2025. The admit card will contain important information such as the candidate's roll number, exam date, time, and exam center. Candidates must print the admit card and bring it to the exam center along with the original HSC equivalent exam registration card. If the admit card is lost, it can be downloaded again.

Marks Distribution

The AFMC admission test will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) totaling 100 marks, divided as follows:

  • Biology: 30 marks
  • Chemistry: 30 marks
  • Physics: 30 marks
  • English: 05 marks
  • General Knowledge (Bangladesh History and Liberation War): 05 marks

Candidates must score at least 40 out of 100 marks to qualify for admission. Each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.

AFMC Admission Result 2025

The admission results will be published on AFMC's official websites (afmc.teletalk.com.bd) and www.afmc.edu.bd result), posted on the college notice board, and sent to the candidates via SMS. The AFMC Admission Result 2025 has been Released on 26 January 2025.
